Filipa Valdeira

Filipa Valdeira holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Lisbon University, Instituto Superior Técnico (Portugal), and a PhD in Mathematical Sciences from the University of Milan (Italy). She is currently a Researcher at NOVA University of Lisbon, Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, with NOVA Lincs and NOVA Math. Her main interests include Machine Learning and Optimization, with emphasis on Gaussian Processes and Point Cloud shape modelling. She received a MSCA ITN fellowship as part of the H2020-MSCA-ITN BIGMATH: BIG data challenges for MATHematics, where she worked with industrial partners to develop 3D shape models for prothesis design. She has supervised one MSc student.
