Teresa Romão is an Associate Professor at Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade Nova de Lisboa (FCT/UNL), where she teaches and develops research work in the area of Human-Computer Interaction. She is an integrated member of NOVA LINCS (Multimodal systems group). Her current main research objectives are related to the study and development of infrastructures that support the implementation of mobile context aware multimedia information systems. These goals include the exploration of models, interfaces and sensorial systems and devices, as well as the development of ubiquitous computational applications which provide users with the information they need whenever and wherever they need it. Research work has also been conducted in the field of persuasive interfaces that contribute to change users' attitudes and behaviours, and in order to explore the use and contribution of new interaction techniques for computer entertainment. She has been involved in several EU and national funded research projects related with computer entertainment, augmented reality, mobile storytelling, ubiquitous computing and persuasive technology. She has authored and co-authored many publications in books, peer reviewed journals and top conferences, such as CHI, UIST, ACE, INTERACT, MUM. She has been involved in the organisation and served on the programme committees of various national and international conferences, such as INTERACT, ACE, MobileHCI, IUI.
